BenchK respects your privacy. We collect only the data we need to process your orders, support your account, honor your warranty, and improve the experience of shopping with us. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Everything below expands on that.
The data controller is BenchK LLC, 1013 Ohio Ave, Palm Harbor, FL 34683, USA. Orders are fulfilled from our warehouse at 8020 118th Ave N, Largo, FL 33773. For any privacy question, email privacy@benchk.com.
Account & order data — name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number, and order history.
Payment data — handled entirely by our payment processor (Shopify / Shop Pay) and financing partner (Affirm). We do not store your card number on our servers.
Communications— messages you send us by email, the contact forms, or the on-site assistant. Assistant questions that go beyond its built-in answers are processed by Anthropic (Claude) to generate a reply; don’t put payment details in the chat.
Usage & device data — we measure how the site is used with PostHog (product analytics and session replay — recordings of page interactions with everything you type masked before it leaves your browser), Google Analytics 4 (IP anonymized), Ahrefs Analytics (cookieless), and Vercel Analytics (cookieless, aggregate). If you save a cart or check out, we link your analytics session to that order so we can see which pages led to it. No third-party advertising cookies. You can turn analytics off in one click on the Privacy Choices page — details in the Cookie Policy.
Email engagement — emails we send may include a standard open-tracking image so we know whether they were received and opened. Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
To process and ship your order, take payment, respond to support requests, honor your warranty, prevent fraud, comply with our legal obligations, and — only if you opt in — send occasional newsletters. We never use it for anything else without telling you first.
We share data only with the service providers (processors) that make the store run, each bound to use it solely on our instructions:
Shopify — checkout, payments, and order management.
Affirm — financing, when you choose it at checkout.
Resend — transactional and opt-in marketing email.
PostHog — product analytics and session replay (typed input masked).
Google Analytics 4 — traffic measurement (IP anonymized).
Ahrefs Analytics — cookieless search-traffic measurement.
Vercel — hosting, plus cookieless aggregate analytics.
Anthropic— powers the on-site assistant’s AI answers.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights, or as part of a business transfer. We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We keep order and tax records for as long as required by law (generally up to 7 years for financial records), account data for as long as your account is active, and marketing data until you opt out. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to or restrict certain processing, or request it in a portable format — at any time by emailing privacy@benchk.com. We respond within 45 days (CCPA) or one month (GDPR). We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information.
Categories we collect: identifiers (name, email, address, phone); commercial information (orders); internet/device activity (analytics); and geolocation at the approximate (city/region) level. We collect these from you directly and from your use of the site, for the order-fulfillment and support purposes described above.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: we do not sell your personal information for money. To the extent our analytics tools could be considered “sharing” under the CPRA, the Privacy Choices page is a working one-click opt-out, and we honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal automatically. To make any California request, email privacy@benchk.com with “California Privacy Request” in the subject. You may use an authorized agent; we may verify your identity before responding.
Our site and products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, email privacy@benchk.com and we will delete it promptly.
If you are in the EU or UK, our legal bases for processing are: performance of your purchase contract (orders, shipping, support), our legitimate interests (fraud prevention, improving the store — with a working analytics opt-out on the Privacy Choices page), your consent (marketing email), and compliance with legal obligations (tax records). You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Data may be processed in the United States under appropriate safeguards.
